Iphone phone tips

Incoming calls

1. stop incoming calls by pressing the sleep and wake button
2. send the call to voice mail by pressing the sleep and wake button twice

send MMS messages

1. Create an email and attach a photo
2. in the to field, type the persons phone number followed by @mobile.att.net

extend battery life

1. you can greatly extend the life of your iphone battery by lowering the brightness, turn off the auto locate services, turn off 3g, turn off wifi, turn off fetch email data and set it to manual

Caller ID

1. thumb sized contact pictures can be had by uploading a photo to your computer’s address book in contacts or outlook

1. to take a screen shot of your iphone screen, simple hold the home button and then press the sleep wake button.

Iphone Email

1. To delete an email, swipe from left to right on the email in the email listing. Press the delete button that pops up on the right

Iphone Keyboard

To get a quick period, just hold down the button, then swipe directly to the period.

To view large keyboard for surfing the net, simply turn the phone to landscape mode and press and hold down a key. This will magnify the keyboard.

Iphone shortcuts

For quick dialing, keep the phone favorites. By doing this, you can unlock, press phone, and press your contact in 3 easy steps.

You can wake the iphone by pressing the home button as suppose to the sleep wake button.

Scroll through your contacts faster by pressing and then sliding down the alphabet on the right hand side.

force quit a buggy iphone app or a hanged program by simply pressing and holding the iphone button for 4-8 seconds.

play a song while the iphone is locked by pressing the home button twice.

Iphone google maps

You can type three letter airport code and google map will find it. to get airport codes, click here

You can go to maps.google.com and email directions to your iphone. if you open your email on the iphone, google maps will be open and display the google map.

If you google map crashes when it opens, sometimes the google map application fails after pressing the icon, simply send yourself an email from google maps and open it from your iphone’s email client. This has fixed my google map problem.

Iphone Safari

Get to the top of the webpage simply by double tapping the top area near the address bar.

email a webpage by pressing on the + symbol. Afterwards click on the share button and email the webpage url to a friend.

Zoom in onto a picture simply by double tapping it.

Zoom into any area of a webpage by double tapping. Double tapping again zooms back out.

Zoom anywhere manually by using 2 fingers. spread your fingers apart will zoom, sqeeze them together minimizes the zoom.

To view url link information, simply press down on the link and hold for a few seconds. This will reveal the url link.
